Kerry's 308 GTS Project
I took the 308 to the Exotics cars and coffee at Redmond Town Center. On the way there, I noticed a drop in power and assumed that one of the banks stopped working. When I got to the cars and coffee, a friend happened to have an infra-red camera with him. A quick look told the tale:
As you can see, the left exhaust (front bank) is considerably cooler than the right one. Of course, a licked finger would achieve the same conclusion but this way, you don't burn off any fingerprints. I have been having a single cylinder miss that would go away above 2800 RPM, so I suspected a distributor advance issue. I have replaced the plug wires, extensions and spark plugs recently, so I think something has seriously gone wrong in the front distributor.
One good note, both of the front disk rotors and calipers showed the same temperature, while the rears were even and a bit cooler, so at least the brakes are working as one would expect. Here is a side view.
