Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)
I am lucky in that the brakes were mostly gone through and rebuilt. However, there was a missing hard brake line going from the front booster/equalizer to the right front rubber line.
When George came by the other day, he brought over the left over lines and parts he had from re-doing his brake lines. He also upgraded all of his brakes, from the master cylinder to the calipers. In addition he had a good flaring tool, etc.
Since the brake lines are either 3/16" or 1/4", it's easy to replace them, except for a special double bubble flare needed where the hard line meets the soft line fitting. Here you can see the difference between the double bubble (left) and standard flare (right):
Luckily, George had replace one long straight brake line which had a good double bubble flare on it, so I started with that end for the tubing I needed. After several bends, I got everything so it fit well.
One of the other parts in the braking system that needed to be addressed was rebuilding of the front booster.
