Kerry's 308 GTS Project

Jack Point

The 308 is designed to be jacked up (using the tool kit jack) at only one point on each side.  So both the front and rear wheels are off the ground when the car is jacked up.

One thing that I had noticed when I had the car on the lift was that the jacking point seemed to be designed to slip the jack into a flat slot, somewhat like the jack had a T-top.

When I was working on the timing belt change, I looked at this again, and got out the jack.  Once I saw the jack, I realized that the alignment ears were not supposed to be flat, but vertical so the jack fit into a channel with them on each side.  After getting out the autobody tools and doing some straightening, I got everything looking like it should and the jack now fits correctly.

I hope to never have to use the jack, but the car is less likely to try and slip it off now.
