Kerry's 330 GT Restoration
The Chateau San Michelle Winery has a large estate with tour and a tasting room, along with a stage area for outdoor concerts, etc. not far from my house. This year, they were promoting a Stay-cation over the Memorial Day weekend. Among other things going on then, was a car show, presented by the Exotics at Redmond Town Center crowd. E@RTC hosts a cars and coffee get together every Saturday morning in Redmond, WA if the weather cooperates.
I drove the 330 GT and ended up being parked next to Greg Whitten's LWB TDF. This car won second in class at Pebble Beach last August.
I mentioned to Greg, that this is probably the closest any of my cars will get to Pebble, just being along side a PB winner. At that point, he pulled out his class win ribbon to decorate my car.
There were a hundred or so cars there, from old classics to modern Ferraris and Maseratis. Here's the engine of an old Rolls Royce. I jokingly asked the owner, what tugboat did the engine come from. He took the question in the spirit that was intended. What was amazing was the linkages for adjusting the spark timing and fuel mixture from the steering wheel.
Of interest was a Shelby Ultimate Aero, which are made about 150 miles away in eastern WA. This car has over 1200 horsepower and weighs 2750 pounds, about the same weight as my 240Z that has 129 horsepower.
