Kerry's 330 GT Restoration
I wasn't aware that ANSA closed in 2009, but an employee group restarted the company in 2010. Interesting history at Classiche Exhaust History
The good thing is that all of the individual components are now available, at least for my 330 GT.
So I ordered a new collector to replace the original one that was so rusty. In addition, I was able to special order just the tips for my 330 GT. As any long time owner of a 330 GT knows, they first rust out where the blue arrow points.
The four new tips were less than the cost of a single rear silencer. As you can see, I'll need to weld it on, add the tabs between each pair for the hanger, wrinkle paint the forward portion and then put on the red tape (which was included) and ANSA decals (not included).
The other difference is that the original ANSA exhaust tip was steel (hence the rust) with the rear section chromed. These tips are stainless steel, so I'll need to spend a little time doing a fine polish on them. That also means roughing up the section for the wrinkle paint so it bites well, but these should last for my lifetime.
More to come this winter when I put these tips on the car.
Well, I ended up having a bunch of things done by Dennison International, including replacing the exhaust tips.
