Griot's Garage Italian Car Show

Most of you are familiar with Griot's Garage, receiving their lavish catalog of car care products in the mail periodically.  Griot's is located in Tacoma, Washington, about 40 miles from my house.  I've gone to their garage sales that they hold every fall, where there can be some fabulous buys.  Last year, they moved to a much larger and nicer location and I haven't had the opportunity to stop by their new digs.

Since moving, they have held an annual Italian Car Show.  This year it was on a Saturday, so nicely dove-tailed with the Exotics at Redmond Town Center cars and coffee gathering that I usually go to.  So after that, a bunch of us headed down I-5 to Tacoma.  Since this was Labor Day weekend, traffic was heavy and in one backup, I had to lock up the brakes to avoid running into the back of a Murciélago.  I hate to think of the bill my insurance would have had to pay for the Lambo rear and the front of my 330!

Italian cars were the feature, but there were a lot of other exotics too.  Among the Ferraris was a 250 GT PF Cabriolet II (S/N 3773).  Since I'm working on my PF coupe, I took lots of pictures.

In particular, I was interested in the routing of the water piping as I'm not quite sure how that all goes together.

Another high light was having two Ferrari F1 cars side by side.  The left one is Jon Shirley's 1997 F310B, driven by Michael Schumacher to wins in the Canadian and French Grand Prixes.  The one on the right is Richard Griot's F1-2000, a winner in the Canadian Grand Prix, also driven by Schumacher.  It has several other trophies driven by both Schumacher and Rubens Barichello.  More details can be read by clicking on the placard pictures.

I didn't hang around to see if I won anything.  Probably not as I was competing against the PF cabriolet and a superb 275 GTS.
