Kerry's 330 GT Restoration

Kirkland Concours and Vin d'Elegance

For the second year at the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance, the promoters joined hands with twenty wineries in the Woodinville area to host wine tasting and classic cars.  Two or three cars were stationed at each winery to promote the Kirkland Concours the following day for those stopping by for wine tasting.

The 330 and I were at Brian Carter Cellars, along with a 1957 Corvette and a 1966 Lamborghini 350 GT.

I asked the Corvette owner about the luggage rack and suitcase, specifically if they were original to the car.  He said no, but there were aftermarket racks available back then.  He and his wife did the Route 66 tour a few years before, so he made the rack and they found the suitcase in a vintage store, with decals already on it.  When they looked at the decals, they had been to all of the places, so they just left them on.

At the Kirkland Concours the following day, there were several examples of fitted luggage.

Here are pictures of some of the cars.

Pierce Arrows were a featured marque, including a Pierce Arrow motorcycle along with the 'working girls' trucks and vans.

One highlight was James Bond's famous Aston Martin DB5 outfitted with machine guns, bullet shield and extendable knockoffs used to puncture an opponent's tires.

And we think we were special with our V12 engines.

In addition to the fabulous cars, several wooden boats were being displayed in the marina.
