Kerry's 330 GT Restoration
One thing my car has is long seat rails on the driver's seat. There is nothing in the Ferrari records that I have that shows that the car was ordered with them. So I presume that these were added by an owner in Italy.
Another 330 GT owner asked how mine were done as he is pretty tall. Mine are so long that I can't reach the pedals when the seat is at the rearmost location, and I'm 6' tall (or was before I got old and shrunk).
The rails were modified by welding on extra portions to the rails and mounts to extend them. This is the slide on the latch side.
The floor mount section was extended by welding on some square tubing and supporting it on a stand-off at the rear which was bolted through the floor board. There was also nuts welded in the middle to support the rails as for some reason, they did not keep the same angle, but flattened it out. One would think that a tall person needing the long leg room also would need head room, so you would want the seat as low as possible.
Here you can see the rails and how long the extensions are, almost the length of the seat. I've considered removing these as they interfere with a rear passenger's feet, but then how often does one actually carry rear passengers in a 2+2? If I ever replace the interior carpet, I'll revisit this issue.
