Heat for the Shop

I had decided not to put any heat into the shop until I decided how needed it would be.  Well, it's January and I have decided that it is needed (at least if I plan on doing any work when it is cold).

Three years ago, we redid the fireplace in the house and installed a wood burning fireplace insert.

It turns out that the fireplace chimney didn't give a proper draft for this to work.  Fixing that problem would have been to put an insulated full liner inside the chimney.  In addition, we have a gas log in the fireplace in our ski place in Canada.  My wife finds that very convenient, just flip the switch and instant fire.  So we decided to put a gas insert into the house and move the wood one to the shop.  With the addition of legs, the wood insert converts to a free-standing stove.  Here you can see it installed and the new chimney on the roof.

Now that there is heat in the shop, I no longer have any excuses for not working on the 330.
