This was in 1982. The car came home on a trailer with lots of parts in boxes. Tim had stripped the car to bare metal and removed most of the other parts except for the front suspension, differential and the interior.
One of the first things I did was to locate all of the locks and make sure the keys worked. Then, when I visited my parents the next time, I had Dad order a bunch of key blanks to match the keys I had. Dad used to own a hardware store, but kept the key machines and still did some locksmith work from time to time. For more information on keys and locks, click here.
