Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)
The paint strip people hate my car. They couldn't get the paint off with any chemical stripper they had. They ended up scraping the paint and most of the bondo off with a heat gun. Now it is ready to be blasted.
A friend with a PF coupe was chasing a rattle at the rear of his car. Once he found it, he warned that I should make sure that the lever action shocks were bolted tight to the chassis. I emailed back that I didn't have to worry as there was nothing on the body to rattle right now.
The upholstery people continued on making the new foam cushions while the leather was being finished and shipped from the Netherlands. The leather, hood pad and trunk material arrived.
Other significant things this month were that the new crown and pinion gears arrived. So the differential should be buttoned up pretty soon. As mentioned before, the engine is assembled and has been tested on the dynameter. Some work on plating and finishes on the suspension. The leaf springs were disassembled and sent out for powder coating. I noticed that the hourly rate went up $5.50/hr. At least it is well above minimum wage. A total of 230 labor hours for the month.
