Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)
Still not much going on as Dennison was preparing three cars for the Monterey auctions and Pebble Beach Concours.
Just 13 hours of labor each month.
Finished working on the air cleaner top, filling a couple of small dents, priming, painting and riveting the FISPA ID tag back on.
Worked on the corners by the lower door hinge the get everything aligned and welded up.
At some point, the prior owner had welded up the original side marker light hole and added Altissimo tear drop lights that were used on later models. See the red oval.
I had made some measurements on another local PF coupe so I could locate where the correct side markers should be located.
However, after all of the paint and undercoating were stripped off, the welded up holes became visible on the inside of the fenders where the blue circle is. So that solves the location issue. Just need the proper size hole saw and a little welding to get it back to original. The Altissimo holes are welded up in the right picture.
They unfolded the lips under the front fenders to remove the inner wire and clean out the rust. The blue arrow points to the unfolded lip in the picture above.
Some work was done on the rear brakes and brake master cylinder.
The nickel plated parts came back, so they were checked against the photo of what was sent out and stored in the parts cabinets.
Hopefully now that Monterey week is over, Dennison will get back to serious work on my car.
