Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)

September 2020

The car came back from the paint shop, ready to be re-assembled.  Getting the final finish wet sanded and buffed out at the paint shop was most of the work for the month, along with painting the underside, engine compartment, etc. with black paint.

They had removed the panel at the front of the trunk to allow the painters better access to the area where the fuel tank gets mounted.  Once the painters were done there, that panel was re-riveted back in place.

As the car was in the paint shop most of the month, only 90 hours of shop work.  In the shop, work continued on the fiddly bits.  More working on the chrome parts getting them ready for the final plating.

Time was spent locating the various parts that had been stored months ago.  They couldn't find the new exhaust, but after I assured them that it was there, it was located upstairs tucked away in a corner.  I knew that they had it as the place on my shop wall where it hung for years was empty and they had taken a picture of it when they were cataloging all of the parts.

Some parts were re-assembled, including the heater control.

The radiator fins were all straightened out and it was prepared for painting.  When the car came back from painting, it was removed from the rolling frame and put on a lift to start the suspension installation.
