Festa Italiana 2021

Festa Italiana is an annual event at the Seattle Center, usually in October to commemorate Christopher Columbus's birthday.  However, this year it was held on the weekend of September 25th and 26th.

Bringing a Ferrari is an excellent way to attend as you have free reserved parking right in the middle of the Seattle Center with the fountain in the background.

This was canceled last year due to the pandemic.    Masks were required everywhere including outdoors as the event had over 500 attendees.  The great majority of people were obeying the edict. I only went on Saturday as it started raining as I was leaving home on Sunday.

This was the first drive in the 330 after five years of languish.  It seemed to get the most attention of the cars there and elicited lots of questions and pictures.

There wasn't as many food vendors but the event was pretty well attended.  The bakery where I would pig out on brownies and canola has gone out of business, so I had to settle for gelato for dessert.

Other than the car needing to be jumped to get it started in the morning, I had no problems.  I realized that the battery is probably 10 years or so old.  I'm picking up a new correctly sized battery (27F) today.

I did notice that the fuel gauge is stuck in the middle, probably from when I replaced the clock.  It just stays in the middle and doesn't go to empty when the car is turned off, so it is probably a mechanical issue where the needle is touching something.  Not a difficult task, but it's about an hour to remove the cluster and the same to re-install it, with the latter depending on how many times one drops the lock washer that is under each knurled nut holding the gauges in place.

All in all, it was a good outing and when I got home, I patted the fender and thanked the car for getting me home yet again.  With a 55 year old car and 163K km on the odometer, anything can break at any time.
