Kerry's 330 GT Restoration
3/2007: Ferrari has discontinued the Heritage Certificate and replaced it with an Original Vehicle Colours document. This contains about the same information but is easier to obtain since only the chassis and engine numbers are required. Click here for more information.
I was able to request and receive the Heritage Certificate for my car. In order to get this, you must register with the Ferrari Owner's Site. Once that is done, log in and navigate to the Heritage Certificate page (under Historic document archive) and supply the following:
Information Type |
Explanation/Entry | Explanation/Entry |
Car Model | 330 America | 330 GT 2+2 |
Chassis number | VIN | VIN |
Type of engine | 209 | 209 |
Number of engine | Internal engine number | Internal engine number |
Type of gearbox | 508F | 571 |
Number of gearbox | Transmission serial number | Transmission serial number |
Type of rear axle (if applicable) | 508F | 571 |
Number of rear axle (if applicable) | Differential serial number | Differential serial number |
Here's a link to where all of these numbers can be found on a 330 GT or America.
The request was accepted and a week or so later, I got an alert that it was available. Finding it took a while, but you simply go back to the Heritage Certificate page and there's a link to the pdf file. Downloading it and printing on a color printer gives you a copy to frame or display at the next event. It is in A4 size, so use A4 paper if you have it or legal size and cut it to the 8.25x11.67" size of A4.
Heritage Certificate Number 0000022
It's nice to have such a low number. You notice that they have lots of zeros for issuing many of these.
In particular, the Date of Manufacture was new to me. I already knew the original exterior and interior colors, but many people owning early cars that have been repaired or restored over the years don't know those.
