Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)
Ferrari used black oxide hardware in a lot of places in their cars. Since new hardware is almost always zinc plated, it's really obvious when one has to replace old bolts and nuts.
Caswell Plating has a black oxide kit that I used for the first time. It's a pretty simple process, done without any electricity (unlike most plating). To start, you clean the parts well by soaking in their SP degreaser. Rinse and then put them into the black oxide solution, leaving for 2-10 minutes. After that, soak in the penetrating sealer and let dry. Here's an example of the before and after.
