Kerry's 330 GT Restoration
One of the rubber parts what was missing on my 330 when I bought it were the rubber bumpers that go inside the trunk hinge so it won't hit if opened too high. In fact, I didn't even know they were missing until looking at Lowell Brown's car a few years ago. Here you can see it on Lowell's.
This is a part that is NLA and when I asked Cicognani, the Italian rubber people, about getting a mold made, they weren't interested. Quite a while ago, another owner took his off and sent it to me.
As you can see, the pull through tip is completely flattened. I bought a rubber kit, but never got around to trying it out. By now, the contents are out of date. Since then, I've found Verell Boaen, who, in addition to molding stalk ends, makes various rubber parts for Ferraris. He made a mold and cast these for the owner who loaned me the original and myself. Hopefully enough other owners will purchase them to offset the time needed to make the mold. You can see the new one on the left and a temporary one I was using on the right.
Here's where they go and the difference between them.
So if your car is missing these bumpers or they are toast, contact Verell to get new ones.
