Kerry's 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe Restoration (1643GT)

Dennison Visit 8/22/21

As part of Tom Yang visit, we went over to Dennison International and I checked on progress on the PF Coupe.  The car is already to go except for the engine and transmission installation.

The engine is still being rebuilt after the rings didn't seat properly.  A head bolt sheared when being torqued.  These are new head bolts, so they should not break.  So, the heads were removed and new head bolts were installed.  Old head gaskets were temporally used to check that the head could be torqued down.  One head bolt was pulling out of the block circled in the lower right.

This head bolt was one that I had problems with several years ago when I was still working on the engine.  It got stuck and I had to heat up that portion of the block to remove it.  That softened the metal in that corner.  They will have to make a larger and longer insert to have enough holding power.

Instead of this being the engine that won't die, I am beginning to think that it is the engine that won't live.
