Task List

This is the set of tasks that I've accomplished on the 330 in the 30+ years that I've owned it.  These are broken out by various systems or areas of the car.  However, I find it convenient when searching for something to use your browser's Find (Ctrl-F in most browsers) function to locate a specific item.

1. Air Conditioning
   • Get the A/C working.
   • Aeroquip 1540 A/C instructions.
   • Make the A/C foot ducts that were missing.
2. Brakes
   • Rebuild and bleed the front brakes.
   • Replace the soft hoses to the front brakes.
   • Refinish and install the brake reservoirs and bracket..
   • Fix the emergency brake cable.
   • Rebuild the master cylinder.
   • Replace the reservoir hoses.
   • Make a tag for the master cylinder.
   • Replace the reservoir hose clamps with the correct type.
   • Replace a rear hard brake line.
   • Fix a bleeder screw.
   • Make some brake line clips.
   • Fix a dragging brake.
   • Clean and paint the brake dust shields.
3. Clutch
   • Replace the clutch slave cylinder.
   • Replace the clutch.
4. Cooling
   • Add an auxiliary radiator fan.
   • Rebuild the heater control valve.
   • Refinish the radiator overflow tank.
   • Replace the radiator overflow hose.
   • Replace some radiator hoses.
   • Rebuild the water pump.
   • Make a couple of gaskets for the heater outlets in the foot wells.
5. Differential
   • Fix an oil leak in the differential.
6. Electrical
   • Fiddle with the air horn.
   • Fix the headlight stalk switch.
   • Work on the wiring.
   • Add the correct backup lights.
   • Replace the horn brush that I broke.
   • Refinish the coils.
   • Rebuild the distributors.
   • Replace the spark plug wiring.
   • Fix the emergency brake warning light.
   • Wire the fan circuit correctly.
   • Get the clock working.
   • Align the headlights.
   • Fix the heater fan motors.
   • Replace the ignition relay.
   • Make rubber pads for the door, hood and trunk light switches.
   • Marelli distributor chart.
   • Rebuild the electric window switches.
   • Microtecnica window switches.
   • Replace the windshield washer pump.
   • VDO windshield washer pump.
   • Fix broken wire in alternator.
   • Fix the radio antenna.
   • Add radar receiver wiring.
   • Repair the wiper motor.
   • New wiring harness.
   • Electrical gremlins and preventative maintenance.
   • Replace the starter.
   • Fix the voltage regulator and alternator (again).
   • Make a cover for the fuse panel.
   • Greased a window motor.
   • Added relays for the electric window motors.
   • Fix bad battery terminals.
   • Clean one of the push button light switches.
   • Replace the interior incandescent bulbs with LEDs.
   • Clip for window motor wire spool.
7. Engine
   • Refinish the air cleaner.
   • Rebuild the engine.
   • Install the engine.
   • Install the belly pan.
   • Replace the front crankshaft seal.
   • Replace the oil drain plug.
   • Add mesh to the oil breather cap.
   • Repair an oil leak in the mechanical fuel pump.
   • Replace the oil breather hose.
   • Wrinkle paint the header heat shields and wiring tubes.
   • Horse power calculations.
   • Make a heat shield for the starter motor.
   • Make engine mount heat shields.
   • Replace the starter.
   • Have the car tested on a dynamometer.
   • Replace the oil breather hose again.
   • Took the car to Dennison International to get several items fixed.
8. Engine compartment
   • Install the heater air vent hoses properly.
   • Make the spring loaded hood bumpers.
   • Add tubing on the hood springs.
   • Add the hood safety wire.
   • Clean up the battery tray.
   • Replace the wiper arms.
   • Clean the original Cavis windshield washer hose.

   • Parts buying trip to the UK in 1999.

10. Exhaust
    • Wrinkle paint the exhaust.
    • Fix an exhaust leak at the header/collector joint.
    • Make shields for the mufflers.
    • Replace the collectors.
    • Replace the tips.
    • Add a heat shield above the rear muffler to help prevent vapor lock.
11. Exterior
    • Fix and make keys for the locks.
    • Work on the body and paint the car.
    • Install the bumpers.
    • Replace the door seals with the proper ones.
    • Make the escutcheons that fit over the bumper tubes.
    • Replace the front turn signal housings.
    • Fix the headlight trim rings.
    • Make the inner fender panels.
    • Knock offs.
    • Add a missing brace for the front inner fender panel.
    • Add the proper license plate frames.
    • Add a passenger side mirror.
    • Make rubber rings for the door locks.
    • Fix some paint problems.
    • Polish the paint.
    • Polish the window stainless steel trim.
    • Replace the windshield washer jets.
    • Fix the rear window molding.
    • Paint the trunk lid.
    • Install the trim around the fender vents.
    • Install the windshield and rear window trim.
    • Round rear reflectors.
    • Re-key a bunch of locks for another 330 owner.
    • Prepare the car for painting.
    • Paint the car.
    • Re-assemble the car after painting.
    • Replace the windshield.
    • Glue in the side vents in the front fenders.
    • Replace the rear window seal.
    • Replace the TRIPLEX wording on the rear glass.
    • Fix the hood so it would unlatch properly.
12. Fuel
    • Get the FISPA electric fuel pump working.
    • Replace the fuel lines and filters.
    • Fix the fuel pickup in the tank.
    • Replace the fuel tank.
    • Repair an oil leak in the mechanical fuel pump.
    • Work on the vapor lock problem.
    • Add a second electric fuel pump.
13. History
    • ACI/PRA (Italian registration) documents.
    • Build sheets.
    • Heritage certificate.
    • MCM flyer.
    • Original Vehicle Colors document.

14. Interior
    • Replace the carpet.
    • Add seat belts.
    • Remove the dash to fix the A/C.
    • Re-key the fuel release lever lock.
    • R&R the gauges.
    • Fix the heater control lever.
    • Replace the door panel clips and receivers.
    • Replace the package shelf.
    • Add a period Becker radio.
    • Repair the seat back pocket.
    • Fix a stripped nut holding the seat.
    • Make visor end plastic tips.
    • Make plugs for the emergency window crank holes.
    • Adjust the speedometer.
    • Long seat rails.
    • Restitch the pleats in the driver's seat.
    • Replace the leather on the fuel release surround.
    • Install jute carpet padding.
    • Mount a fire extinguisher.
    • Fix the split in the driver's side arm rest.
15. Miscellaneous
    • Captured nuts.
    • Rubber parts.
    • Parts finds.
    • Restoration cost.
    • Washington state restored license plates.
    • Add a shop for working on the cars (series of pages).
    • Ferrari 330 rototiller.
    • Had a new title issued with the proper VIN on it.

16. Owner's pouch

17. Steering
    • Refinish the steering wheel.

18. Suspension
    • Rebuild the front suspension.
    • Replace the rear shocks and surrounding springs.
    • Add boots to the rear shocks.
    • Lowell rebuilt his rear suspension.
19. Toolkit
    • Accumulate a toolkit.
    • Add the emergency window crank.
    • Make a knock off wrench.
    • Make an oil filter wrench.
    • Found and fixed an original oil filter wrench.
    • Original tool pictures.
    • Fix leather straps.
    • Cadmium plate some of the toolkit items.
20. Transmission
    • Replace the shifter bushing.
    • Fix the speedometer drive.
    • Change the transmission oil.
21. Trunk
    • Install new carpet in the trunk.
    • Cadmium plate several items in the trunk.
    • Replace incorrect bolts in the trunk.
    • Replace the trunk carpet with the correct type.
22. Wheels & Tires
    • Paint the alloy wheels.
    • Chrome the center rings.
    • Daytona wheel paint instructions.
    • Fit proper sized tires.
    • New tires.
